What we were doing back in 2005
|
The 1st Annual Shmendrik Award "winners" have been chosen! The annual awards “honor” those who most distinguished themselves by their seemingly unwitting support of anti-Semitism. Posters at bottom of page for you to enjoy and pass on to others.
And the awards go to:
|
Golden Shmendrik – Ken Livingston, the mayor of London, for his compulsive and ludicrous insulting of Jews, the Jewish People and the Jewish State.
| |
Silver Shmendrik - The US Presbyterian Church, for deciding to embark on a process of selective divestment from companies doing business in Israel.
| | Bronze Shmendrik – Neturei Karta, the tiny fringe group, whose black-garbed “Rabbis” pose with anti-Zionist banners for news photographers.
| |
Honorable Mention (Brass) – Prince Harry, who managed to get himself photographed while innocently "partying" in a Nazi uniform exactly two weeks before Europe's solemn commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

“Winners” were selected from Shmendrik nominations that flooded in from around the world. Suggestions came in from places as far apart as Sweden, England, France, Singapore, South Korea, Israel, Argentina and the United States. We'd like to thank all of you who sent in nominations. Now it's time for all of us to circulate the link to this page and to print out and send posters to friends (or shmendriks).
Click on a poster below to open a new window with the full sized "official" poster. (They'll print nicely on either US Letter-8 1/2" X 11" or European A4 paper size.)
The JPEG version will load more quickly. The PDF is at a much higher resolution and will print out much better.
If you click on the PDF poster and it does not open then you don't have a PDF reader on your computer.
